Spotlight Media is constantly growing and changing. As we’re sad to see team members leave, we’re always excited to announce our newest hires. Since all our employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, each member offers unique skills that help the Spotlight Media team become even stronger and more well-rounded.

Meet our new business operations assistant, Larissa Kunde, and learn what makes her a perfect fit for our company.

Tell us a little bit about yourself before you started at Spotlight Media. (Hometown, previous places you worked, the college you attended, etc.)
“Originally from Madison, Minnesota, I’m a North Dakota State University alumna with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and advertising and a minor in business administration. I’m currently a part-time graduate student finishing a master’s degree in mass communications with an emphasis in organizational communication. I’ve worked in higher education for over 10 years at both South Dakota State University and NDSU.”

What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
“Friends, family and faith are top priorities in my life. I have a passion for giving back and working to end the fight against cancer. I volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Hospice of the Red River Valley and was previously the Faculty Advisor for NDSU Colleges against Cancer.

“I love early morning workouts, checking out local breweries, going to hole-in-the-wall places and sports. My favorite time of the year is March Madness followed closely by football season. I’m also an avid Dan Patrick listener.”

“And if I’m not in the office, I may just be chasing down the next ice cream truck.”

What’s your favorite book and/or movie?
Books: “Good to Great,” “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and “The Advantage”
Movies: “Varsity Blues” and “Caddyshack”

Share something about yourself that would surprise us.
“You will never find me on a roller coaster or driving down the interstate with the windows down—but I’ve gone skydiving twice. Go figure.”

What originally drew you to Spotlight Media?
“Having worked in higher education for over 10 years, I’m looking forward to the change and learning the inner workings of a small private company.”

What are you looking forward to the most with your new position?
“My coffee table always has copies of Spotlight Media’s magazines strewn across it, so it’s very exciting to be able to actually work for this company and be a part of highlighting all the great things Fargo-Moorhead has to offer.

“So long to the days of impatiently hovering the stands at Hornbachers waiting for the new magazines each month!”

Last question, most important, if Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you? Why?
“Jessica Biel. I love how humble and down-to-earth she is. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be married to Justin Timberlake?”
