Client:

LifeCare Medical Center is a community-focused healthcare system serving northwestern Minnesota. The organization provides a broad range of services — from primary and emergency care to rehabilitation, senior services, and wellness programs — across multiple locations. Their mission centers on delivering high-quality, compassionate care close to home while promoting health and wellness in the surrounding communities.

As a regional leader in rural healthcare, LifeCare needed a web presence that could keep pace with its expanding service offerings and deliver a seamless digital experience for patients, families, and staff.

The Challenge:

LifeCare’s previous website struggled to reflect the scope and sophistication of its services. With more than 200 pages of content, the site had grown difficult to manage, navigate, and optimize. Key issues included:

  • Outdated structure: Disorganized menus and poor content hierarchy made it hard for users to find providers, services, and location information.

  • Limited functionality: The site lacked dynamic tools such as provider search, event listings, and secure online forms for patient communication.

  • Scalability concerns: Each location and service needed its own SEO-optimized page, but the old CMS setup wasn’t flexible enough to handle that.

  • User experience gaps: Patients couldn’t easily register for classes or events, and mobile usability was inconsistent.

  • Compliance & security risks: Forms and communication workflows weren’t HIPAA-compliant, posing potential privacy issues.

Overall, LifeCare needed a modern, scalable WordPress site that could centralize its content, improve discoverability across locations, and support secure digital interactions — all while staying easy for internal teams to manage.

The Solution:

To bring LifeCare’s digital presence up to the standard of its patient care, we designed and developed a fully custom WordPress website tailored for scalability, usability, and security. Our goal was to make every aspect of the site—from finding a provider to signing up for a class—simple and intuitive, both for patients and for the LifeCare marketing team managing content.

Here’s how we addressed their key challenges:

1. Provider Search & Directory

We built a custom post type for providers, complete with filters by specialty, location, and service. This dynamic directory allows patients to quickly connect with the right care team member. The LifeCare staff can easily add or update provider profiles through the backend without touching code.

2. Events & Classes System

A custom “Events” post type was implemented to manage health classes, community programs, and special events. The system integrates directly with WooCommerce, enabling secure online registration and payments for paid classes or workshops.

3. Custom Mega Menu & Mobile Menu

We restructured the entire site architecture with a custom mega menu, built to handle 200+ pages while remaining easy to navigate. The mobile version mirrors the desktop experience, ensuring accessibility and consistency across devices.

4. Multi-Location SEO Framework

Each LifeCare location now has its own SEO-optimized landing page complete with unique metadata, maps, and service listings. This multi-location structure strengthens local search visibility and helps potential patients find the nearest facility quickly.

5. HIPAA-Compliant Forms

We developed secure, encrypted online forms for appointment requests, referrals, and patient inquiries—ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards while maintaining an intuitive user experience.

6. Content Management Made Simple

Custom post types for Providers, Events, and Locations give LifeCare’s internal team full control over content updates. No developer intervention is needed to post a new class, update a provider bio, or add a new facility.

7. Custom Design & Performance

The site was built from the ground up to align with LifeCare’s brand identity—clean, compassionate, and professional. A modern, responsive design and optimized performance ensure fast load times and accessibility on all devices.
